You can even spend less on food and drink, find cheaper places to stay, and save on parking in Chicago. You can find tons of free things to do outdoors, especially during the summer.Ĭhicago’s theater scene is legendary, and while downtown shows can be pricey, you can also get half-price tickets and support one of the many, many neighborhood theaters. There are free and inexpensive museums and you can get discounted tickets. There are many, many cheap things to do in Chicago on a budget. And while there certainly are restaurants charging hundreds of dollars per person for dinner and hotels at thousands of dollars a night, there’s still plenty that’s a bit more, shall we say, reasonable. Walk around little Italy.Here’s an obvious statement: exploring Chicago can be expensive. You can rent a little pedal boat for $50 for one hour (kinda pricey but might be the fun thing worth spending on). Walk around Point Loma on the path that leads from pizza nova to PL seafood. Grab breakfast to-go and coffee and have it here on a bench. Just make sure you go toward the beginning of HH to ensure you have plenty of time.įairly hidden gem: Bayview park tucked away by the navy base in Coronado. You could definitely do plenty of drinks and apps for 2 for less than $50 and you still get the fancy feel and the live music and view. Peohe’s in Coronado super affordable only during happy hour. A great scenic walk down the pier and I’ve seen whales while eating. Go to the tin fish restaurant at the end of the IB pier (a must!) and it’s causal/affordable foods. Visit Carrillo monument/lighthouse in Point Loma. The grassy area by peohe’s or in front of costa azul are also great places to have a picnic and have stunnning views, especially at night.īig pizzas for $20 cash a piece at Bronx pizza to bring for a picnic!
